Lindenstraße is the title of the most popular soap opera in Germany. Probably, for
friends of real life soaps, Lindenstraße is what Star Trek is for Sci-Fi freaks. It tells the
story of the inhabitants of an apartment house in Munich. The action in the series always takes place on Thursdays and is transmitted on the following Sunday 18:40 in the first German Television.
The following week you can watch the rerun nearly on a couple of third programmes somewhen spread over the week. (NDR, mon 11:30 - MDR, tue 23:55 - WDR, thu 23:45 - NDR, thu 1:35 - NDR, sat 7:00 - MDR, sat 12:45 - BR, sat 13:30 - HR, sat 14:30)
I did not like the soap when it started in 1985, but around 1990, I started watching and since then, I have hardly missed any series. Click here to go to the site of the makers of the Lindenstraße |
